The collection contains four letters to Amanda Stewart Bryan Kane, 1952-1983 and a newsclipping. In a letter, 1952 August 8, Frances Perkins regrets that she cannot come to the wedding of Shelah Kane Scott. In letters, 1964 March 3 and 10, Berlin, two friends comment on their travels including a stay with the Kane in New York, the London production of "Wings of the Dove" with Wendy Hiller and Susannah York, and a Goya exhibit, with a brief passing mention of the Berlin Wall. In a letter, 1983 Janaury 24, Adlai E. Stevenson thanks Kane for her support during his recent campaign and mentioning all the balloting irregularities uncovered during a recount of 16% of the Illinois precincts. With the letters is a clipped book New York Times book review by James MacGregor Burns of "Madam Secretary," George Martin's biography of Frances Perkins.

Adlai Ewing Stevenson III (October 10, 1930 – September 6, 2021) was an American lawyer, business executive, and politician.
